SEC EDGAR

GA

edgar_search finds filings, and edgar_fetch reads one filing whole or one section of it, or returns the financial facts a company reported in XBRL. Every filing and fact carries the accession number it came from.

The two tools are served on /edgar and, like every tool you have switched on, on /mcp.

Filings

deep.navy reads EDGAR's daily form index each day after EDGAR's nightly index update and indexes every 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, with 10-K and 10-Q history back about 400 days.

Search. edgar_search finds filings by keywords, by company (a ticker, resolved to its CIK, or the cik itself), by formTypes and by filedAfter and filedBefore, up to 100 results per call. It needs a query, a ticker or a CIK; without a query it lists the newest filings that match the filters.

Sections. edgar_fetch takes an accession or the sec.gov url of a filing's primary document and returns it as markdown and text, whole or one section by its heading, such as "Item 1A" for risk factors or "Item 7" for MD&A, with a truncated flag when you cap the length with maxCharacters.

Every filing is labelled by rule edgar.v1: a document is a filing only because the sync wrote it from a form index entry, so nothing else can be mistaken for one. EDGAR is read within the SEC's fair-access rules, with a declared user agent and at most ten requests per second.

Facts

With a facts query, edgar_fetch returns XBRL financial facts from EDGAR's companyfacts API instead of a document.

Concepts. Name the company by ticker or cik and list the concepts you want. Concept names are the company's own XBRL tags, in any taxonomy and matched without regard to case, and us-gaap:Revenues pins the taxonomy. Companies tag the same idea differently: Apple reports its revenue as RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax, and its last Revenues fact is from its 2018 annual report. With no concepts you get every concept, newest facts first.

Periods. periods takes fiscal years such as 2025 or calendar frames such as CY2025, CY2025Q3 or CY2025Q3I. limit is 1 to 500 facts, 100 by default, newest period first.

edgar_fetch
GA

For a document it returns the filing, the markdown and text, and the section you asked for. For a facts query it returns the company and its facts, each with its unit, period, value, form, the accession it was reported in and the frame EDGAR picked for that period.
